Now here’s a name that stands out from the ordinary. Jack Rabbit Slams formed in 2016 and have been touring Scotland for the majority of the time they’ve been playing together. The band is formed by Rob McCombie, Kristaps Baumanis and Sean Love, the band have different influences from music so in each song, you can capture a bit of each band members influences. They’ve recently been recording a new music video so keep an eye on their social media channels for more news!
My thanks go to Rob for making this possible, I hope you enjoy reading the content

Questions
How / when did the band form?
The band formed in 2016 through a chance meeting between myself and Sean, we had known each other for years but never played together due to him being more into metal and me being more into rock. On our first jam, we just clicked perfectly and have been playing together ever since
What’s the best gig you’ve played?
Headlining King Tuts was superb, it was a great night. Everyone we knew was there, we played great as well so that has to be a special night. It was just a brilliant gig. And Bannermans at the end of our mini tour last year is another gig I’ll always remember. We’ve played at Bannermans a few times and it’s always great fun, it made it a bit more special since it was the last night of our tour.
What are your next gigs?
Our next gigs are the Midnight Breakfast Club in Bathgate on 23rd of March, followed by Bannermans on the 24th
What / who is the biggest influence on the band’s music?
We all have really different influences. Everything we write is done together so each song has a bit of each members personal influences in them
Is there any standout memories that bring back good memories?
Last year we were on our first tour, and we were camping on Loch Ness. Around 6am, we were all drunk, just sitting on the banks talking nonsense to each other and all ended up in proper belly laugh hysterics to the point we were crying and cramping up. Funniest night of my life and none of us can actually remember what we found funny, but it was funny as hell whatever it was.
If you could change anything about the history of the band, what would you do?
Wouldn’t change much, as there’s no point in looking back. We have got better and better at playing together and writing together so we are constantly moving forward and trying to improve ourselves. You’re only as good as your last show so we always try our hardest to please
What’s next in the pipelines for the band?
Right now, we’re preparing to release our debut album “CRACKERJACK”. The first single and video will be out middle of May and the album should be out just after that. Then later on, we are touring in September to show off our new material. Ideally in 5/10 years’ time, we want to be doing the same thing that we’re doing just now, only on a much larger scale
