Well then, that was a bit of a shocker wasn’t it? After two years of TRNSMT at

TRNSMT 2018 – Just before the Sterophonics took to the Main Stage

Glasgow Green and 2 years of great lineups, 2019 seems to be not worth the hype that it has recieved on social media prior to the lineup being publicised (barring any bands / artists are to be confirmed)

After going to / working at TRNSMT last year, I was impressed by the quality and vast appeal that the festival had. Stereophonics, Queen + Adam Lambert, The Killers, James Bay, Kodaline, Wolf Alice etc, you can argue that there was something there for people of all genres. However, this year seems to have disappointed many people more than impressed them…

Now, no-offence to anyone who is confirmed for TRNSMT this year as no doubt they are talented (TRSNMT isn’t some festival your friend’s friend is organising), but surely in Scotland, one of the biggest and most famous countries in the world for music deserves some more quality than what is on offer this year? There are some bands that I like the look and sound of (Years and Years, Bastille, George Ezra, Snow Patrol), but then I look at the list and I see acts like Stormzy, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Sigrid, Fredo (they do nice chocolate bars) and my gut reaction is disappointment. I feel as if TRNSMT have tried to target the wrong audience with these signings, no doubt they’re popular but are they right?

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that there’s some more news to come out from the organisers (DF Concerts) regarding the lineup, we can only hope that it improves. Time will tell, although I do expect attending numbers to be down on previous years if the line-up doesn’t change dramatically
